Utah Jazz Twitter Roundup: Lakers Game, Tibor Pleiss & Coach Quin

Given the fact that the Utah Jazz fell to an inferior Los Angeles Lakers squad sans Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Julius Randle, Nick Young and Ronnie Price, one would expect that Jazz nation is in a surly mood this afternoon. In an effort to take the pulse of fans following the debacle, I took to Twitter with predictable results:

Well, Mr. Lind, they may not be impressive to you, but I’ll have you know that Carlos Boozer, Ryan Kelly, Robert Sacre, Wayne Ellington and Jordan Clarkson are…

There’s definitely not a proper way to end that sentence. To concede a game to that squad on your home floor following consecutive wins over some of the best teams in the west is troubling at best. Mostly, it’s just vomit inducing:

But really, what did we expect given the team’s execution? Lazy pass after lazy pass resulted in several Laker buckets on the other end:

Thankfully, Jazz radio analyst and Utah Stars great Ron Boone has a dose of reality. Something the Jazz faithful need to consider before hurling themselves on any swords or traversing tall buildings with the intent of a quick descent:

Truer words were never spoken. Throughout the course of a season, teams win and lose games they shouldn’t. The loss to LA is one that falls firmly into that category. Despite the waves they’ve made in recent weeks with their improved play on both sides of the ball, there will continue to be let downs from time to time. Especially given the club’s collective youth.

Joe Ingles and Dante Exum may have negatively impacted the team yesterday, but tomorrow is a new day and new game. I expect both to rebound and have better offerings for the Denver Nuggets game.

And finally, BBall Breakdown has a scouting report on recently-acquired big man Tibor Pleiss:

Whenever the Jazz acquire a European prospect, it’s hard to know whether or not we’ll actually ever see them stateside. With that being said, I am intrigued by Pleiss. Size and length will always be sought after in the NBA and the thought of having another seven-foot-plus center on the bench is enticing.

Clearly Pleiss may have a long way to go before he can be counted on as an everyday player in the Association and, personally, I remain more intrigued by Ante Tomic. Still, Pleiss is an intriguing prospect that could be a part of Utah’s future.
