Damian Lillard became a superstar last night as he hit the game winner against Houston to send them to the next round of the playoffs. Sound familiar? It should Jazz fans as John Stockton did the same thing against the same team only to send the Utah Jazz to the NBA Finals.
In case you missed it here’s the shot from last night:
Being able to watch Damian Lillard at Weber State made this shot even sweeter and I think most Jazz fans are happy for DL and the Blazers. I know I am.
Now that you saw that notice how the call is almost the same as it was for John Stockton 17 years ago… “And Damian Lillard sends the Portland Trailblazers to the second round of the Playoffs.” First time in 14 years for the Blazers.
Now to relive one of the greatest moments in Utah Jazz history:
How did both of those guys get so wide open? Either way I love it, because I have never been a fan of the Houston Rockets (Barkley is a stud though). John Stockton and Damian Lillard now have one thing in common and I’m betting when it’s all said and done they could have another in the Hall of Fame. Lillard has had a great start to his career and it has been great to have somebody to cheer for while the Jazz rebuild.
