Mike Harris

I remember during pre-season when I watched Harris play, I could not figure out why he was around as long as he was. He wasn’t shooting the ball and just looked really awkward out on the court. Then, Jazz management left me scratching my head….he made the team.

I really couldn’t understand it, but then my thoughts were, he won’t play anyways so I guess it doesn’t matter. He played the season opener, and played a lot of minutes. On a positive note, he disrupted Kevin Durant the entire night and actually shot the ball pretty well. I was pleasantly surprised.

Harris has played in 20 games for the Jazz this season, averaging 11.2 minutes per game. He’s not a scorer, and really not a passer, but he is a pretty good defender. Also, the stat that I see that is really impressive is that he is shooting free throws at 96.3%. That is pretty impressive, but also, he hasn’t played a whole lot recently.
