Thoughts Since Trey Burke Has Returned

The Jazz are a whole other team since they finally have a true point guard.  Technically you could argue the Jazz haven’t had one since D-Will.  Since Trey returned what has changed?

  • Trey makes EVERYONE better but especially Derrick Favors.
  • Trey changes everything that the Jazz are capable of doing.
  • Trey drives in a way that always makes the defense collapse which leads to a pass and another pass that leads to an open shot.
  • Marvin Williams is key for this team to win.  He has played great and I hope the Jazz keep him for the future.
  • Not playing Lucas has really helped this team compete.  Even since Trey has been back, Lucas has been awful in the minutes he has been given.
  • Trey can shoot and wants to take the shot at the end.
  • Trey really is the Jazz’s leader, in just 8 games he is more of a leader than Hayward or Favors which this team desperately needs.
  • Starting the season without Trey was great for the Jazz’s chances of landing a top 3-5 pick in next years draft.
  • Trey has erased many doubts from a lot of fans including myself.  Not sure if he is an all-star point guard caliber player, but definitely good enough to start without question and help the Jazz win.
  • The defense has been much better as well which was one of Trey’s “knocks” during the draft.  With the offense able to move better and the defense able to stay in front of people the Jazz could easily go .500 here on out and I wouldn’t be surprised.
  • Enes is better with Trey on the court by far, but still gets taken on the defensive end almost every time.
  • Burks and Burke when on the court together have been deadly other than against the Pacers.
  • Jazz NEED either Trey or Gordon on the court at all times for them to win games.
  • Jeremy Evans is the x factor for the Jazz and has improved his game greatly since he entered the league.
  • Jazz still have played the toughest schedule and December is rough.
