John Lucas III Will Bring Jabari Parker to Utah

getting the first pick being the worst team has only happened ZERO TIMES in the past 9 seasons!!

Okay I have a confession to make and I still think a lot of Jazz fans feel the same way… I want the Jazz to win.  Even if the Jazz went .500 the rest the way they’d only end up with 35 wins and there is no way the Jazz will do that.  So in games at home I want the Jazz to compete and win.

I got many texts last night at the game from “Jazz fans” that were hoping the Jazz lost.  I HATE that!  Seriously, the Jazz have built a big hole that the Jazz are basically in the bottom of the Western Conference no matter what, and the bottom 5 in the NBA no matter how the Jazz play the rest of the year.

From now until Christmas the Jazz might have 5 wins at the most which will still have them dead last so for now please humor me and cheer for the Jazz… to win.  Yes I want Jabari Parker too but guess what, the Jazz could still lose every game and get the fourth pick in the draft missing out on Wiggins, Parker and Randle.

In fact, getting the first pick being the worst team has only happened ZERO TIMES in the past 9 seasons!!

So this brings me back to why the Jazz are playing Lucas.  For losses.

He is clearly a horrible option at point guard as a D-league player has come in and looks much better than he does.  In fact, Diante Garret who has only played 127 minutes has two more assists than John Lucas III in 341 minutes.  Two more assists in 214 minutes less playing time?!

Lucas not only doesn’t have the ability to get guys the ball but he is also a horrific shooter as was on display last night in his 1-8 shooting.  For the season Lucas has a true shooting percentage of 42.2% which is 367th out of 416 players. According to NBA.com John Lucas III is the 65th worst offensive player and the 43rd worst defender out of 416 players putting him in the bottom 10 players in the whole NBA for offense and defense.  He’s awful, a joke of an NBA player and the Jazz just let Garrett sit on the bench while they know 100% that Lucas is killing them on both ends.  If you think Lindsey and Corbin don’t know this then you’re kidding yourself as both of these guys are huge into analytics.

Just to add to how bad Lucas is; out of every point guard that averages more than 10 minutes a game Lucas ranks dead last in assists.

So a guy that can’t shoot, can’t pass and can’t defend is playing 20 minutes a night then there is only one explanation.  The Jazz are tanking.

So are the Jazz tanking?  Yes absolutely they are.  As long as Lucas sees the floor for more than 2 minutes a game, then the Jazz have no desire to win.  Everybody including myself said the Jazz were not tanking this season, but that they were just rebuilding.  That’s false.  The Jazz might just be doing the sneakiest tank job of all time.

Well, I do agree with 100% of the things you say in this article.
JL3 is a joke, some of my friends (who support Spurs) watched a few Utah’s games and asked me why Lucas was on the court : it took them less than 5min to understand his level. I answered them that maybe Ty is gerontophile. Playing JL3 instead of Garrett/Clark, Jefferson/Williams instead of Burks/Evans, and soon Biedrins instead of Gobert….this is no rebuilding but tanking like you wrote.

(I am still surprised with Williams level & investment : he is a much more better player now.)

I have read some comments about Utah Jazz this year speaking about “Ty-tanic”, it’s a good nickname!
