Jazz Grades

Alec Burks: (B+)  Liked his aggressiveness and play-making last night.  He showed pretty good court awareness and was willing to pass the ball.  He also made some clutch baskets when we really needed some points.  He had some crucial turnovers late in the game and made some scary cross court passes.  Didn’t hit one jump shot. If he hits a couple jumpers he gets an A.

Gordon Hayward: (C-) Played a really good first quarter then got in to foul trouble and was out of it the rest of the night.  In the second half he looked awful offensively and it looked like his legs were solid lead.  Had two pretty big steals which with his assists keeps him above a D grade.  4-13 was awful shooting.  Could contract talks be bothering him?

Derrick Favors: (B) Loved the way Favors played.  15pts of offense,  a couple blocks,  FIVE assists and was a force on the defensive end.  Would like to see more rebounding, he had 9, and less turnovers he had a whopping 6. It’s good that he likes to pass but he needs to make the pass when it is there and not force it.  This will come in time.

Enes Kanter: (B) He had a quiet 14pts and 10 reb.  Needs to be more assignment sound but all in all I liked what i saw from him

Richard Jefferson: (B-) Provided some leadership out there, hit some 3’s and did what we need him to do.

John Lucas: (C-) Hit some 3’s and played good defense.  Also had 5 assists, don’t know if we can as much more of him. Took a horrible 3pointer at the end of the first half that led to a thunder 3 point shot.  That play killed us, he also had a crucial traveling call at the end of the game.

Rudy gobert (B+) Solid effort in his first ever NBA game.  He gives us nothing offensively at this point but is a force on defense altering shots and keeping rebounds alive.

Mike Harris (A) He foulded out, but was getting on Durant’s nerves.  He caused some turnovers and hit some shots and brought a much needed boost of energy off the bench.  He gets an A for doing exactly what he should, bring toughness and energy off the bench.
