Why Jamaal Tinsley Is a Good Idea... For Now.

Trey Burke fractures a finger, just our luck!  Trey will be out til at least the middle of November with a more likely return at the end of November.  If he doesn’t come back until the end of November that’s 18 games he will miss.

John Lucas is obviously a backup and really struggles with the top guys on the court leaving management to figure out what they want this year.  If they didn’t sign anybody that means they really are hoping for one of the worst records and a chance at Andrew Wiggins (whom I’m hearing is not as good as advertized).

The Jazz went out though and signed Jamaal back.  Yes I understand he is not a guy you go out and sign if you want to win.  However, he knows the Jazz offense and can actually play the starter role because he is poised and runs the offense.  This will help the Jazz in the second unit with Lucas in with them.  On top of that Tinsley ran out of gas last year, but before that he was actually quite competent as the starter when Mo was out.

If Tinsley can spread the ball around, the Jazz just might stay afloat while Trey is out… If that’s what you as fans want.  If you’re hoping for a season where the Jazz challenge for the worst record, signing Jamal is showing that’s not what management wants.  So let’s have another season where the Jazz compete and is fun to watch, either way I’m happy to have #6 back.
