Hayward Extension Being Offered

Soon after the Utah Jazz finished their game on Sunday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, there were reports that the Jazz and small forward Gordon Hayward would agree on an extension before the October 31st deadline.

Jazz fans should be excited that management is looking to lock up Hayward to go along with Favors. After seeing how Hayward plays this season being the leader, I think the Jazz will be making the right decision. Also, if the Jazz don’t get this deal done, they may have a harder time keeping him come this offseason.

The rumors coming from the Jazz are that the offer that Hayward will get offered a contract that will be more than Favors. Hayward will probably be looking around the 4 year, 55 Million range on his deal.

These 2 deals will be important for the Jazz to accomplish. With the way this team is being built, Hayward and Favors are a huge part of the future. These deals are also a huge relief for the players. Knowing that the team believes in you and is willing to give you an extension to keep you around  is a big weight off their shoulders. It could end up helping their play on the court a little bit.

One more side note, the contract extensions being offered, won’t begin until the 2014-15 season.

What should Hayward's contract extension offer be worth?
