Brutal Road Early for the Jazz

It’s great to have Jazz basketball back in our lives as we have 2 a day practices with daily interviews and the free scrimmage coming up on Saturday.  Excitement surrounds this team as the fan base is gearing up for this season that supposed to be a down year as far as wins for the Jazz.  We let Jefferson, Millsap, Williams, Foye and Carroll walk and it looks as though the team is tanking to much of the media.  Let’s be honest here, to anyone who doesn’t follow the Jazz closely they have no idea what the Jazz new starting line up is capable of.  This year’s starting lineup for the Jazz will most likely be a lot better on defense and probably took a little dip on offense.  Regardless of how good or bad this team could be, early on is going to be rough for the Jazz. Take a look at the Jazz schedule through November.

Schedule from www.utahjazz.com

I broke down this schedule three different times.  The first being extremely biased to the Jazz, second picking the team I believe is best on paper and third being hard on the Jazz assuming they struggle to start.  First break down I got a record of 10-8, second a record of 5-13 and third with the Jazz struggling a record of 3-15.  As you can tell the second two scenarios are pretty low in wins for the Jazz and due to the schedule are a likely outcome.

This article is to prepare fans for the possibility that the Jazz may start off slow but that doesn’t mean the season is lost.  The schedule to start the season is very rough.  There’s a 3 game road trip and a 4 game road trip in November.  This season is not all lost if the Jazz start off with under five wins but it will be tough for them to get back to .500 with a record like that.  If the Jazz can get somewhere in the range of 6-8 wins Jazz fans should be very satisfied and if they can get 8 or more than Jazz fans should be ecstatic.  It’s going to be a rough road in the early going for the Jazz but this team will be tested early and it will be fun to see how they respond post November.
