Gordon Hayward: Where is The Love?

We have all seen Gordon Hayward’s video game rating in NBA 2k 14 and most of us are a little upset.  We have a whole article about it here on Purple and Blues http://purpleandblues.com/2013/09/25/2k14-kidding/.  I want to know what is it that people and mostly the media outside of Utah hate about Gordon Hayward.  Before we go any further watch this Youtube Video

After watching this what is it that people hate about him?  Is it because he is white? so he obviously isn’t as good as other players. Is it that he plays in Utah?  Numerous scouting reports have said that Hayward’s defense is not that good or pedestrian,  but in reality his defense is great.  He usually stays in front of the guy he’s guarding and is always there to interfere with the shot.  Two of Kevin Durrant’s worst games last year came against the Jazz.  Hayward wasn’t guarding him the whole game Marvin helped out as well but he was guarding him a good percentage of the time.

Hayward has an unbelievable knack for blocks on fast-break defense he has to be one of the best in the league in this aspect of the game.  His timing and body control in these situations are top notch.  Gordon also shot 41% from the 3 point line which is great and is an 82% free throw shooter.  He also averaged 3 assists per game and is a willing passer, stats show as David Locke has mentioned numerous times in his Tip-Offs that players play better when they are on the court with Hayward.

Even Hayward got in on the debate:

Gordon Please prove them wrong.

What are your thoughts? Why do you think Gordon gets no love?

  • Mr. Binn

Because he’s always been a bench player with limited minutes. He just needs a chance to really show whether he deserves to be a starter or be relegated back to a bench position. If he has a huge year then he’ll feel the love.

Because the makers never seen him play. Since the jazz don’t get on tv
