What a crazy draft night!! Players falling way farther than anybody knew (Noel, McLemore). Then something crazy happened and Detroit took Caldwell-Pope! It was no secret Minnesota with the 9th pick wanted Pope, but that didn’t happen and that made Jazz fans extremely happy! Minnesota didn’t want anyone else and the Jazz knew that. So they offered both their picks and got Trey Burke out of Michigan.
The Jazz could not have done better and a starting lineup next year of Burke, Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter will maybe be the youngest lineup in NBA history. With two number 3 picks, 2 number 9 picks and a 12th pick, the Jazz followed the OKC model and I believe it will work out for the Jazz.
Trey Burke willed his team to a win against Kansas in the Sweet 16 when he made two three pointers in the last 30 seconds to send it to overtime. The guy has unreal quickness and has unlimited range. His court vision is great and will be a great leader for our core 4 now “core 5″. He’s a winner, 97-5 in high school and 55-18 at Michigan. Hopefully he’ll bring that over to the Jazz this next season. Prepare for a long offseason now as Jazz fans get excited for the youth movement.
