Jamaal Tinsley – Unrestricted – 2012-2013 Salary $1,352,181

The Utah Jazz have always kept at least 3 point guards on the roster. Right now they have zero. Jamaal is getting up there in age for an NBA point guard. He is going to be 36 years old next season, but he might be one of the hardest working guys on the team last season.

Jamaal kept in shape on that treadmill everyday. He’s a streetballer. He’s got some moves and most the time he is completely under control. He came into the starting role after Mo went down with an injury and played really well. If you ask some people, they’d say he did better than Mo did at running the offense, which could be true. Not only does he do a good job on the court, but when he isn’t getting the minutes, he is a good mentor for a young point guard. With the Jazz needing to draft a point guard this year, it would be good to have him on your bench.

He probably wouldn’t get much playing time this next season, but like I mentioned above, he would be a perfect 3rd point guard to have on your bench because he can take a rookie point guard under his wing and help him learn the game. Plus, you can sign him for fairly cheap, which the Jazz could use and still go after bigger names.
