Marvin Williams and Boston Celtics Attempted Trade

A couple news worthy items have come out in the past day that may have huge impacts on the Utah Jazz.

Marvin Williams will undergo heel surgery and be out at least six months.  This confirms some of the rumors that Williams was playing hurt this past year in his worst statistical year as a pro.  Marvin has a player option for $7.5 million this next year and is expected to pick it up.  It will be interesting to see if the Jazz amnesty Marvin or if they use him as a guy off the bench for the year.

The second piece of news comes out of Boston where it was reported by Greg Dickerson, a sideliner reporter for the C’s, that the Boston Celtics tried to make a move with the Utah Jazz for Al Jefferson and or Paul Millsap at the trade deadline.  To make something work it would have been a player like Jeff Green or Brandon Bass that would have been involved in the talks.  Dennis Lindsey chose not to pull the trigger on whatever trade it was but expect the talks to continue at the NBA draft at the end of June and even into free agency as the Jazz can do a sign and trade with Paul and Al.
