Anti-Climatic NBA Playoffs

One game 7, one?  Out of six series that went to game 6, only the Bulls and Nets will go to game 7.  The Warriors/Nuggets game was crazy at the end and it felt like the Warriors wanted a game 7 only to find out that the Nuggets didn’t want to go one more game.  The games last night however were a different story.  Other than the Celtics going on a 20 -0 run  to get within 7 of the Knicks the game really was boring.  The OKC game went back and forth but gave us zero entertainment value in the fourth.  The most exciting and physical series had the Clippers get blown out and leaves us all wondering if Chris Paul will stay now.  Unfortunately that was most likely Vinny’s last game as head coach, which isn’t his fault he coached a very overrated team.

And don’t even mention the boring series between the Pacers and Hawks…

Then on top of the boring games half the stars are hurt still.  At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if we lost a couple more in the next week.  This leaves us with next round match-ups between: OKC/Memphis, Spurs/Warriors in the West and Miami/(Bulls or Nets) and Pacers/ Knicks.

OKC and Memphis would have been interesting but I think Memphis shows how bad OKC is without their second star.  Spurs and Warriors has potential but Spurs will probably win in 5.  Miami, yep that series is already over.  The most exciting series next round solely due to history is the Pacers and Knicks.  I expect the Pacers to come out on top but I do expect this will be the only series that goes 6 or 7.

Seriously though is anybody doubting the Heat will win?  One person?? No? Didn’t think so.  At least when the Bulls were winning or Lakers at least 2 or 3 teams had real good chances each year to take them down.  Pacers will lose in 5 to the Heat and either Memphis or San Antonio in the same way.  I think I’d be most curious however to see Memphis try just because of their lock-down defense.  For the sake of entertainment and at least watching good basketball everybody should be praying for a Memphis/Heat finals or somewhere in the back of everyone’s mind a Warriors/Heat finals!
