Have the Jazz Given Up?

The last two road games have shown a team with no desire to compete, since blowing out the Jazz the Knicks have then been blown out themselves the past two games.  The Thunder did everything possible to give the game to the Jazz but the Jazz didn’t want it.  No movement, no hustle, poor shot selection, no help defense and just pure lack of emotion.  This concerns me that they are basically tied for the 8th seed and are not even fighting.

The Jazz got an unexpected gift though that might push them to play harder and that is Kobe Bryant is out indefinitely with an ankle sprain.  This is a big deal because without Kobe the Lakers wouldn’t have won any of their past 5 games.  If Jazz can somehow find a way to win 3 of the next 5 (assuming both home games and @Dallas), then the final 3 weeks will be very entertaining.

The bench fought last night at the end of the game and if they are the only ones that are going to show fight then I think it’s time to just play the guys that want to still show they have something to play for.  Watching Al and Sap laugh on the bench when we were down 30 was not something any fan wants to see.  It’s frustrating, but hopefully they bring it against Memphis and get back on track.
