Al to Spurs?

Chris Sheridan of sheridanhoops.com is reporting that the Spurs are the front runner for Big Al Jefferson of the Utah Jazz.  To make the money work he has Patty Mills, Tiago Splitter and Stephen Jackson coming to the Jazz.  Is this possible? Maybe.  The front offices are very familiar with each other since Scott Layden and Dennis Lindsey switched sides.

The question is why would the Spurs who pride themselves on defense and are scoring more points than most NBA teams want Al?  Maybe he’s the piece they need to put them on top again or they just want interior scoring.  Either way the money works and the Jazz get two things that they need in Mills and Splitter.

Interesting idea and just might happen.  We’ll stay on top of this to see if there are any developments in the story.
