Dear Utah Jazz Players, Tyrone Corbin and Greg Miller-
I’ve watched almost every game since I could pick up a basketball. I’ve lived through many good seasons and great players and also through bad seasons with not so great players. The one thing that the Jazz have never done over the course of the past 25 years is lose a home game by more than 33 points. Even when they have played extremely bad they put forth some effort and came back or made a run. This did not happen tonight. Losing by 45 points to a Rockets team that has struggled mightily as of late is disheartening and downright pathetic. Every person in that arena tonight deserves their money back because we paid for entertainment and it never came. I remember a year or two ago a soccer team losing 8-0 at home and the owner gave back the fans money. Now I’m not saying we are as good as that soccer team, but we definitely don’t deserve a performance at home like that ever.
I understand that some nights the ball doesn’t go in. This wasn’t one of those nights. In fact, losing to Houston the way the Jazz did was an historical night that only a 3 point shot by Murphy right before the buzzer caused it to not be the worst loss in Utah Jazz history, which sits at 46 points. With all that being said we the fans deserve better, much better. All the players salaries should be deducted for that game as well as Coach Corbin for not getting them ready. If another game is played without effort at home I encourage all fans to walk out and let them finish with no one in the stands. That won’t happen, but it would send the message that needs to be said, that we demand more in Utah! If there is anything in Utah that we understand better than the rest of the country it’s that if you put forth all of your effort we take you in and lift you up. If you don’t, we don’t want you.
