Dear Golden State Warriors Players,
Thank you. We sincerely appreciate your refusal to abide by the front office’s obvious attempts to sabotage your chances of winning any more games this season in a tank job that has even drawn national attention from its lack of subtlety. Despite not playing 7 players, most of them regular starters with “DNP-Coach’s Decision” statuses, you continue to play hard. Saturday night you lost by a mere 3 points to a Houston team that was fighting for their playoff lives. Last night, you finally did it. You won another game and did so in dramatic fashion.
You were down 21 points on the road but refused to quit. You battled back and won the game, your 23rd of the season. We could entertain the possibility that the Timberwolves are a more skilled team at the art of tanking but why tarnish this sweet moment?
The odds of you surrendering your draft pick to the Utah Jazz just skyrocketed with this victory, putting a much-needed game of separation from the two 22-win teams and two 21-win teams clustered together in the standings. We will keep rooting for you, Warriors. We know you can do this. Keep playing hard and use these extended minutes that you’re getting from the benching of half the team to do it again. The Hornets are next and they are playing tough but you can do it. Even better, you get the Spurs on the last day of the season when they will likely have the 1 seed wrapped up and will be playing their own bench to face off against yours. This 23rd win was fantastic, go get #24. We believe in you and again, thank you.
