Last week, there was a lot of talk about Chris Kaman being chosen over Carlos Boozer for the All-Star Game. Well, now it seems like maybe it wasn’t Boozer that Kaman was being chosen over after all. Today, when Kobe Bryant announced that he would not be participating in the All-Star Game, he was not replaced by Carlos Boozer, but rather, Kobe was replaced by Jason Kidd.
Although Jazz fans should be disappointed that their starting power forward did not make the All-Star Game, there may be a silver lining. With Kobe’s injury, there is a strong possibility that Deron Williams can be the starting shooting guard for the Western Conference All-Star team. And what’s even better, is that Williams will be playing in front of his hometown of Dallas.
So yes, Boozer should have probably made it, but to have D-Will starting is something that would make the Boozer snub a whole lot easier to deal with.
